About the Programme

Guardians of nature, in the language of democracy.

India has always upheld the philosophy of living in harmony with nature — respecting Prithvi (Earth), Jal (Water), Vayu (Air), Agni (Energy) and Akash (Space), the five elements that sustain all life. Rashtriya Paryavaran Baal Sansad channels that tradition into structured, parliamentary-style dialogue for the next generation.

About Paryavaran Sanrakshan Gatividhi (PSG)

PSG is a nationwide volunteer movement dedicated to protecting the natural environment from misuse and degradation caused by human activity. With thousands of active volunteers across India, PSG builds an eco-conscious society through awareness campaigns, institutional partnerships and community engagement.

  • Tree plantation & large-scale afforestation
  • Conservation of water resources — India's "Blue Gold"
  • Elimination of plastic & solid waste management
  • Promotion of sustainable lifestyle practices

Background

After the success of the university-category Youth Parliament in 2021, 2022, 2025 and 2026, Rashtriya Paryavaran Baal Sansad is a first-of-its-kind initiative that engages school students of Grades VIII to XII in meaningful, parliamentary-style dialogue on environmental protection and sustainable development.

Accelerating climate change, biodiversity loss, freshwater scarcity, plastic pollution and unsustainable land use demand more than scientific and policy responses — they require an informed, engaged citizenry. RPBS gives school students a structured, democratic platform to discuss root causes and propose policy solutions, in the most respected democratic setting: a parliamentary chamber.

Rashtriya Paryavaran Baal Sansad brings together motivated, articulate and environmentally engaged students from across the country to build lifelong skills of leadership, communication, research and civic participation. The Mock Parliament takes place on 6 October 2026 at the Manav Rachna Campus, followed by the Final Round on 7 October 2026 at the prestigious Vidhan Sabha.
